What implement and how big

For my box 23 I'm buying a house to rent and has a 3 to 4 acre hay field I want to take care of myself I have no desire to hire it out or let the local farmer do it(that's another story)should I buy a mower deck for my tractor, a 3 point finish mower, a bush hog , or??thinking 3to 4 times a year thanks in advance for advise

Agree with a brushhog. A little wider than your rear tires. If the meadow is just grass and you don't plan to take on other jobs you might get by with a 5 footer.

I mow about 3 to 4 acres of old hay field a couple a times a year with a 6ft. finish mower.
The hay is not too thick, nor does it get too tall any more due to the lack of nutrients that once use
to be provided to the fields.
If your grass is not too thick and you don't let it get too tall, and you know where any problem rocks maybe,
a RM finish mower would do a good job for you.
I think the RM finish mower is a tougher piece of gear compared to a belly mower deck, and an easier resell (will work on any 3pt. tractor)
if you find the RM finish mower does not work out for you.
If you got a bunch of bigger bushes in your fields and hidden rocks,
I'd go with a bush hog, but it won't provide as neat a job as the RM finish mower would.

Well???? Not sure the issue, but helping support the local farms is important, in this big boxstore corporate world!... (I'm assuming he would sell the hay/grass)

I doubt it - rule of thumb is 5HP/foot.

What Newbury said. When my dealer delivered my BX2370 they loaded a 60" BB instead of the 48" I had bought. The driver said a 48" is perfect match for my tractor, and the 60" would bog it down too much. He had to go back and get the 48" for me. I also purchased the 48" brush hog/cutter, which was the size they recommended.
