Deja Vu all over again, a week later. Not new snow, we had a windstorm that redistributed last week’s snow. Heat wave now, in the 40F range and it’s melting fast.

Looks and sounds like my place in a normal winter, glad that mother nature seems to be giving me a little break this year. I'm just wondering how long it will last.

Is that normal for you to get that much snow over there in Reno?

It used to be! When I was in Monterey from '74-'76, I'd often go to see brother in Carson City. Overnight snowfalls in the Sierras were often 3 feet or more back then.

learned how to best use my gc2400 dl100 bucket with the blizzard b54c rear blower in 6 inches of snow and ice.
also learned I really want the blizzard BER0080 electric deflector option :D
am gonna look into converting the manual chute rotation to electric but thats not really big deal, I''m more concerned with the clamp on mirrors UPS has not been able to deliver for 3 days due to weather. out for delivery wednesday, thursday, friday, nothing today and rescheduled for tuesday. where my high daytime temp supposed to be -2 F before - 13F windchills. night supposed to be -10F with -20 windchills.
gonna use block heater if I need gc2400 those days for sure LOL

Not in Reno itself. We are in an unincorporated area outside of town at close to 6,000 feet, the elevation is why we have so much snow. But every winter is different and has a life of its own.

so after some time yesterday I have realized grabbing a MF2340 (hydraulic angle) plow blade to use in conjunction with rear mounted blower is my most efficient clearing method for MY private road and 7 driveways running 30 to 150 feet long each.
combo would actually work better for me that front blower/rear blade and in most cases works faster for me than the 3/4 ton 2011 silverado 2500HD with a 2020 Boss 9.2 dxt (had to turn in unit due to medical reasons) works on the driveways. neighbor with 1/2 ford and 7.6 straight blade handling most of road itself (I taught him lot of stuff on road plowing other day, 43+ years blade experience not going to waste) but due to full time job he can't do driveways on road as I did.
so thats where the next tax returns are going.
my lot alone alone took 45 minutes with truck/plow (tight clearances/etc) bucket/blower took 35 minutes. blade would knock 10+ minutes off that.

Jan. 20, 1954 would of been a good day to stay indoors near Rogers Pass, Montana and not plug in a tractor block heater...

this is what you have to do to get rear wheel drive cars onto ramps in winter in Maine.
this morning starter...click..click...click.
in the worst possible location for me to work on.
went grabbed new starter decided to try one more time.
click. click...groan.groan.whir and 2 cranks and running.
damned straight I was gonna move it LOL
ramps slide of course so...pallet forks and a 3x3x6ft piece of wood to rescue.

edit: oh yeah its 24F out with a 20mph wind, wind chills running around 8 deg now. and I'm disabled so this is gonna SUCK A*S.
