( It's back here )

And here too! Cold moved in friday night. 22 balmy degrees, wind blowing, and everything is covered with a thin glaze of ice. YEP! It's FEB.

Update in So. Cal.

We've had some warmer days the last 2 weeks in the mid and upper 80°'s. Forecast is it'll start cooling down this weekend to mid 70°'s. Had some gusty winds at home which brought some warmth in and cleared the air. Just clear and beautiful outside.

Campsite in the Sequoia foothills will be in the low 70°'s with lows reachind down to 44°! Hmmm...thinking about buying a new jacket this year? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Many years ago l was stationed in 29 Palms , Ca and then in Yuma , AZ . Back then l thought how wonderful it was to be in shorts and a tee shirt during the winter months . But once l returned home to upstate N.Y. l realized l could dang near do the same thing here . We just recently went from a high of near 60 to highs of only 20 . l should add that nothing is prettier than a fresh snowfall , it makes my yard look just as nice as the ones on Snob Hill .

I was plundering around at the local TSC store and ran into the Carhart discount rack. They had these flannel lined blue jeans 30% off so I tried a pair on. I had never heard of these things before, (city slicker) and they are amazing. With winter back in force, being swaddled in the finest of flannels was just the ticket. I went back and bought another pair and couldn't be happier. That groundhog was right!

I have two pairs of those pants and a few LL Bean pants just like them. They will sweat you out if it's over 40 out.
