On a second thought, if I do that, it might not snow for years : )</font>

I think there is something going on with the climate, maybe not the global warming scenario, but something. When they have to haul in snow to run the Iditarod, something is strange. The icecaps are shrinking, the permafrost layer is diminishing, glaciers are disappearing but no global warming? Either way I haven't been able to "save the day" with my new tractor. I had envisioned myself shoveling drives, pulling little old ladies out of ditches, emergency grocery runs, etc, etc. Maybe if I go out and get a nice tiller or brush hog it will turn things around. Will just have to go with the flow for now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just my luck Brown, Shuckin' when I shoulda' been Jivin'. Now that I've got the foundation poured though I bet it doesn't rain more than a trickle for months. Not that it would bother me. I've got lots of blocks to lay yet and a lack of mud would be nice to work with. My quandary now is whether the use the dry spell to do some more landscaping, or lay those blocks.

My better half know the answer to your question. She told me a few months ago when I purchased a used Myers snow plow and told her I was converting it for use on the TC-40D loader that it wasn't going to snow the rest of the winter and therefore the plow was a waste of money. So far she's been right on........ /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You know what they say about if you got lemons make lemonade well I took the snowblower etc. off the JD425 and put the mower and bagger back on. It didn't really need mowing but I did get up quite a few leaves and hickory shells that the squirrels left strewn around. The lawn looks pretty good. The Township finally got around to picking up the leaves that people had piled along the curb that had gotten burried under the early December snows. I'll bet there were some tired guys down at the Township depot. Those were some wet leaves. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

When I was growing up we were told that we were coming out of a "mini ice age", which climaxed in the 1800s. Now it's called global warming. To some degree at least it's an excuse by those who'd like us to sit in our houses shivering, and watch the spotted owls s*** on our toys as they rust awy from disuse. Personally I don't think this planet gives a mote WHAT we do; besides, if we mess up too badly it'll puke us up like a cat does to a big hair ball, and start over. I'm rather frugal by nature, anyhow and don't make a really big impact; but I also intend to enjoy life.

Up this way, Winter is supposed to sneak back in this weekend. Maybe I'll get to use the snowblower again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Monsoon season is supposed to return here Sat., /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif guess I'm going to sit here watching it rain while glaring at the list of things I'd hoped to do this weekend.

NEXT year I'm going to have a garage to work in.

I think there is something to this theory, Last year i only had a backhoe to clear snow from my 2.5 mile driveway. It snowed like crazy all winter in my area. I was plowing every other day. It took quite a while in a large backhoe believe it or not.
This year I got more prepared. I bought a tractor with a 60 inch blower, a 72 inch plow for my Yamaha Rhino and a 30 X40 pole building so I didn't freeze to death while working o the new toys.
Long story short it is 55 stinkin' degrees here tonight and my garage doors are open !!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Jstpssng----Good one!
Jeez, this rocks temp has fluctuated since it was born. The wife is from Manitoba, she said that for years when she was a kid, it would snow so much that they would build snow caves from house to house. Her neice and nephew haven't had a chance to do that and they are 9 & 14!
The big "Q" is when does it swing back to colder times and will we be around to see it?
My grandfather used to say that the "North wind will kill you just for standn' anound lookin' dumb!" /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Now that is the way to get snow. Take all your snow cleaning equipment off an put
it someplace hard to get at... I can almost guarantee snow, lots an lots of snow....

PS: If it doesn't snow, you didn't park the equipment in a hard enough place to get at.

May I expand on your theory? Try taking your snowblower, FEL, plow truck, or whatever apart; I can almost guarantee it'll snow. It worked for me last month, I was down for minor repairs and we had 2 medium sized storms, back to back.

Yup. That's what happened. Took the front and rear blade off yesterday. This morning everything is white. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Got 1.2 hours of seat time moving a big pile of brush to the burn pile. </font>
Got up to a skift of snow this morning and the salt trucks are out.

Well it's cold out there today! Was in the mid 60's yesterday and 22 this a.m. with a 20 mph wind behind it. Took the dog's for a walk and almost didn't make it back. I'll put the brass monkey yard ornament back in the shed for awhile.

I'm liking the mild winter, little dusting last night and back into the 50's by tuesday.Get through feb like this and its all down hill from there. The only real problem is I'm in the construction industry and winter is the only time to kinda catch your breath, but thats not really much of a problem is it.I also buy into the global warming theory but any human that spouts off for or against is just stating thier opinion unless they are clairvoyant.

Yup - defintely chilly here. The wind is blowin' so bad that sitting next to the fireplace insert in the basement under 25' of chimney I can hear the draft increase whenever there's a gust. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Although I'm too old to be a kid, I still like to play in the snow. Last year we had almost 4 feet total where I live by this time. This season we haven't had an inch! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I want my snow, I want my snow, I want my snow! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif (that's my temper tantrum /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
