JD 2320
This sounds like a silly question, but my 2320 arrives next week and wondering what the concensus method is for filling the tank. Do most of you use a good old red plastic container . . or do you go with a bigger one and some sort of hand pump?

The position of the filler cap looks a little akward with a heavy fuel can . .and i can anticipate pouring diesel everywhere. Maybe it's easier than i think.

With a 5-6 hour?? tank range I would think two cans might be needed.

I use a YELLOW 5 gallon fuel jug for Diesel. Red is for Gasoline, Blue is for K1.

You should average about 1/2 to 3/4 gallon per hour of fuel.

I set a yellow (I don't want my old brain to get confused between gas and diesel) 5 gal plastic diesel container on the hood, and use the pump syphon, that I originally got for $2.95 to fill a portable kerosene heater, to transfer the fuel. A couple of pumps and it drains the diesel into the tank.

For now, YELLOW fuel cans, one from Walmart, better one from somewhere else.

It is kinda a pain holding a full can 5.5 feet in the air to refuel, so I'm debating whether to get an on-farm tank of some sort.

I won't forget to go with yellow or blue . . .as you say . .i already have enough gasoline powered things I would screw up.

I will look for a pump siphon . . .that sounds more elegant.

And that's good news on consumption. The JD specs had me thinking it would use 1.6g/h . .or 3.8hours at full throttle. I knew I'd have idling time to increase that . .but your estimate is twice or better than I thought. Great.

Thanks for the insights.

I use two 5 gallon diesel plastic jugs. Soon to add in a 30 gallon drum and pump, and of course additive. Yeah it is a little overkill, but I kinda like overkill.

I use fuel pump/nozzle/filter mounted on 100 gal fuel tank from TSC. Little expensive but I have three diesel tractors to fill.

I also use a Mr. Funnel. Jay

I use 5 gallon Klotz fuel cans. They have a metal spout that pulls out. I was going to use one of my 250 gallon bulk tanks but decided not to because of the fuel sitting too long before use. I think it's better to have fresh fuel. I also use a funnel with a paper paint strainer liner.

Attitive? Interesting. . .do you recommend a stabilizer due to the infrequent use . .or is there another additive that is importand for diesels?

If it's the former . . Is there any downside to constant running with fuel stabilizers?

And i'll be sure to bring a funnel if I can't find a nice neat siphon solution.
