What do I really need?

Hi guys, I've been reading around here for some time now...a lot of different forums, and from everything I've gathered, the Yanmar is the tractor I'm looking for. What I need it for is to be small enough to clean out the goat pens with a loader, rototill approx. 5 acres of rowcrop garden, and ocasionally mabey pull a 1 bot. 3 pt. plow in well worked soil. Of course pulling wood wagons, etc. will come too. I've got plenty of larger tractors, but they ar just too clumbsy to wook in the tight areas of the strawberries and taters. I would get a 2wd. mod. because I've never needed anything more, and like to avoid as much "weak links" as possible. Sorry so long, but appreciate any feedback. Mike

Would a 1610 be too large for you? I really couldn't see using a smaller model pull a single bottom plow. In my opinion, power shift is the only way to go.

I have A ym1700 and it want pull a bottom plow very good . I would go with the 2210 it is 26HP.

I would definitely go with a 4wd if you expect to pull a plow. As you said, you have never needed 4wd, but you have had larger tractors. Compact tractors are much better at pulling ground engaging implements with 4wd.

4 wd can come in handy with a full loader bucket also. I sometimes get stuck with a heavy load on soft deep gravel or mud. I have to dump the load and get un stuck. 4WD would be very handy then although maybe I would just dig all 4 tires in? I use my 2210 around the horse barn. It is sized ok for that. It is not as handy as a little skidsteer but it manuvers ok in tight quarters....Power shift is the way to go!!!!
