Forgot ....

Plugged a portable air compressor (OK, tire inflator) into the onboard factory accessory plug in the left side rear fender and it didn't do diddly. Worked fine when plugged into another machine. Is that accessory plug supposed to be hot from the factory, or did they leave the fuse out? Tried it in all keyswitch positions. Need to dig into it when I get a chance.

Mine was hot with the key in the "on" position. I used to run one of those 12v trucker fans off of it without blowing a fuse. I would check the fuse first, then the wire on the back of the plug receptacle.

I was digging out a driveway drainage ditch last week and ran I to a 1 ft x 1 ft rock poking up. I decided to dig it out, which was a mistake. In turned into a 4 ft x 4 ft x 4 ft rock that I could barely budge with the tractor.

I had resigned myself to leaving it there, when decided to give one more go at it. I was able to get it out of the hole by rolling it, and rolled it down to the edge of the driveway, and thought, "well, now what?"

I got it positioned decently, and decided to turn it into a landscape feature entering the driveway.

It has a nice flat front on it, so I think it would be nice to engrave my name and address. Does anyone have any experience engraving rocks? IMG_20201003_122558.jpgIMG_20201007_122617.jpgIMG_20201009_171723.jpg

Check with the places that sell tombstones. They may have some suggestions.

Yes, talk to a monument/tombstone company. I think a nice brass plate with Name/Address would be a better contrast. Either screw or glue it on and add a solar light to enhance the feature.

That's a good idea, and probably a lot less work too. Thanks.

Father hauled a pink rock home from about 100 miles away and we had it at the end of the flower bed for about 40 years. I finally tired of hitting them with the snowplow so I removed them all. Big pink rock now lives under a large spruce tree so I can still look at it. I've always enjoyed rocks.

I thought about the brass plate thing but he said engraved soo ....

You can order some fairly elaborate brass address plates if you want to go that way.

I haven't had much luck with solar outdoor feature lights. They last a year or two at most and are made in a way you can't repair them. Can you run low voltage wiring out to it? They make quite a few decently styled LV landscape light fixtures and LED lamps for them. I have to be very careful with roadside lighting though. I'm on a bad hill on a narrow road and don't want to do anything that might distract a driver's eyes.
