What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Did a little bush hogging today on the mt573, also kinda just wanted to pull something with my new Cummins.


I have a MT-573 and I thought the engine is built by LS. Are you saying yours has a Cummins or does your pickup have one? Nice view, looks like our Carolina Foothills!

Contacted dealer to schedule 300 hour servicing.

Anyone aware of any service notices, recalls, software updates, etc for XR4140?

Also have a potential warranty issue. Had an elusive hydro oil leak past week or so. Nothing drastic just irritating in that I couldn’t find it until now.
Apparently at the top of the oil cooler.


If I wasn’t going for service and not warranty, I’d just remove and take to local radiator shop for test and repair.

If you’re thinking that looks too clean to be leaking, I sprayedwith degreaser and powerwashed to find it.

I'm at 295 or so. If it wasn't for the transmission case leak, I'd do it myself, but since I need to take it to them anyways, I'll have them check all the bolts, nuts, etc. I already have the filters, but since they'll probably have to drain the trans, there's not much sense in me putting new fluid in now.

Dealer told me he lost his mechanic and really backed up. Says hard to hire anyone as they are getting $20/hr just to sit at home on unemployment. Suspect our biggest available labor pool is the tourist industry types.
Gave him my serial numbers to order part and when it comes in I just may ask if I can pick it up, do it myself if warranty not impacted. My hydro fluid only has 100 hrs and not due for change.

Nice ditch. Any plans to tackle that beefy stump? I"ll bet you could play all day on that one.

Nope. That's why there's plants all around it. There's usually a planter on top of it too but it was used elsewhere this year. That's a Locust I took down 5 or more years ago, maybe 10. Still solid. I fought a root from it today. Kept hitting something but couldn't get enough dirt cleared to find out what. Finally got to it ... about a 5" diameter root that was still fairly solid. Recip saw took care of enough of it to get back to digging.

Only a few minutes today pushing dirt back in the long narrow hole after dropping the pipes in.

Tomorrow or Saturday I'll need to mow some and get some landscape rake work done.
