What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Not until I changed it. Better understand how it works now which leads me to believe the sensor is still usable. I’ve cleaned up the old one and placed in the bag the new one came in.

When replacing the fuel filter intself I think next time I will attempt to prefill with diesel before installing to reduce the amount of hand pumping.

You need to be careful about filling fuel filters before putting them on because you can get unfiltered fuel into wrong side and send dirt to injectors ! Had a Caterpillar mechanic tell me that if he does need to prefill filters he at least sends the fuel through a coffee filter first just to be safe that his funnel or fuel can dont have anything in it !

I'm finding out that driving around with an 800 pound Praying Mantis haunched up behind you can make things a wee bit squirrely. Get on a slope that's damp with soft spots and well ... not quite white knuckle time, but it'll definitely get your attention.


Sure glad I can take it off and park it at will.

Finally got the factory thumb this morning, took about a half hour to put on. Very nice design by LS. Well built.

The nice thing about the LS thumb is that the hydraulics will go on with just 2 pins. The cost will be in the diverter valve for the control. I still have an extra remote, so I might try to plumb into that, just run hoses back to a single valve body.

I'm at a year and a half and about 200 hours. Things have been going well, but there have been some glitches. Uphill seems slower for some reason I can't put my finger on. I always have to be in Low and 4WD on my hills though, so maybe I'm just impatient.

Is there anything I should be watching for before the 2 year portion of the warranty expires in a few months?

Loaded up the tiller for the first time this year and went to the work area. Turned the PTO knob ... nada. Thought I could hear something running, but the tiller sure wasn't. Took me a minute to think to look at the other fender and realize the PTO selector was on Mid.

Duh.

I put 230 hours on mine when I had it, no issues (except some operator errors). Did the 200 hour service just before I sold it. I used Kubota SUDT2 hydraulic fluid and it seemed to make the hydrostatic tranny a bit quieter.
