What Brake Control would you get?

for a 28" travel trailer? I had a time delay type on my Dodge and it seemed to jerk a lot and it seemed when you get it set right for the open road it was not right for when you had to jump off to the city

For me it's a question of what WILL I get... to replace the Reese electronic (time delay) unit I have now. It's miserable. I'll probably get a Tekonsha Prodigy. I've heard very good things about them /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Tekonsha Prodigy and I have never had a problem with it. I pull a 20' tandem axle car hauler with my JD TLB set up. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Prodigy was the way I was leaning but I did not want to say it to see what was said here first.

I also recently installed a Tekonsha Prodigy in our van for our car hauler trailer. Installation was very easy. The van doesn't have the factory wiring plugs like pickup trucks so I had to tap into wires under the dash and behind the walls and under the capet and all that in the conversion van. Even with all that, it was very easy.

Master Brake seems to be a good one. I recently bought the brakesmart controller. I havn't used it yet as I havn't bought a trailer, but it comes highly recommended on the RV forums and thedieselstop.com. It measures the brake pressure only so it doesn't act up on hills. My second choice based on the available info I had would be the prodigy.

If you rv and don't go to that forum it'd be like having a tractor and not coming to TBN.

Not on a travel trailer.. but used on my 16' car hauler and horse trailer, it is a draw-tite activator II.

Has selectable tension, as well as speed of braking, whether to engage fast or slow. Also has a 'dead mans switch'.

I have it on my dodge and yukon, and had it on my ranger before I traded it.

would any of the Inertia Activated Brake Controllers be about the same? There seem to be some out that that don't cost nearly as much even some made by Tekonsha
