What animal is pooping on my stuff???

Unfortunately, there is a season for taking racoons, other than for being a pest on your own property (my case). If'n I was harvesting them for fur (too early in the season for a good pelt) I would need to do so in season and within trapping regs (strict). As for the meat, I believe that wild game meat cannot be sold but only given away. In season the pelts can be sold. Similar to venison, it cannot be sold. Later in the winter, I do give the pelts to a friend who traps coon. Not as good as the $50 to $75 they use to bring a few years back. Too many "rather be nude than in fur" campaigners from PETA, maybe. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I believe the poison did work, but I really don't like using it if I can avoid it becuase it is non-selective. I notice a reduction in the problems I am having (no more poop on my daughter's play set, by the swimming pool or on the paths). I only left the poison out for 4 or 5 nights, any bait stations that remained on Saturday morning were picked up and disposed of. A couple more were picked off in a rather selective manner late at night. The net effect is that a 2 prong approach seems to have resolved my issue. I never wanted to totally eliminate the masked critters, I just wanted to reduce their population to a more liveable number.
