Where are all the rocks ??? Did you photo shop them out?
Makes me sick to see that (no rocks). I can barely get a shovel in the ground without hitting a rock around here.

Today we flipped them over and put the gussets on the other side, marked the top chord on 2 ft centers .. Monday we will set the top plates, the bracing, swing the trusses and hopefully have the purlins put in place.

The r-panel is set to deliver on Tuesady ... hoping the roof will be on come Tursday night.

Looks good! Will this be an enclosed building?

Someday !!! Well the gable ends will get it first ... I am bringing the side metal down 6' on the one side and 12' on the other side ... the North end will get closed in with 16' sliding door ... the end in the picture will stay open, thats the South end and I want it open for room for the hay grapple.

For the square bales I'm thinking just 6' on the one side for the air.

Blueriver,
Where did you get the truss design? I am looking at using the plans from Iowa State.
http://www.public.iastate.edu/~mwps_dis/mwps_web/plans/truss_28.pdf

Couple questions:
Appears you only placed the plywood gussets on one side?

Did you use glue on the gussets?

Size nails or screws for attaching the gussets?

Since it only took one day to build the trusses (must have been moving!), was it worth it to DIY?

How much did you save?

Thanks
Paul

I looked at a neighbors building and patterened the design after his, the gussets are on both sides ... I used the nail gun with the equivalant to an 8d nail and yes we where moving ... I saved close to $500 so I believe it was worth it.
