You have caught yourself on fire or the surroundings?
Both, but not at the same time.

Check ebay, sometimes you can get them dirt cheap there.Great idea Shield. Wife has a pair and, well, she will have to get another.
I recently bought a pack of 3 pair of welding gloves at Harbor Freight and am surprised at how comfortable and flexible the first pair is. They were inexpensive enough that if the second two pair don't work as well I still got my money's worth.
Do they have Kevlar threads?

I am good friends with the guy who makes the TIG finger and I tell you I love it. I use one all the time for plasma cutting and tig welding. Great little tool. Thanks Jim- the heat Does get intense pretty quick with the general use gloves i am using now. Do you know anything about the (tig finger advertised on welding web?) wondering if it would be much help? reviews say it may be just fiber glass At one work place we had a pair of Nomex gloves - but don't see much mention of them on welding sites
I totally agree!!!I love my tig finger and wish the whole glove was made of it.
