Great job!
I don't think that I would have tried the overhaul myself. But having seen the great job you did the first time out, I might consider it if the need presents it's self in the future.

Break in, well run it a little light for a couple hours if you want, main thing is to keep an eye out for leaks and such. When something left our shop I don't think it was babied and we didn't ask them to. So basically let her rip! We also use to run the engines on the dyno at full load before we put them back in the piece.

So go for it!! And toss the either!!

I ment to ask if you added up all of the costs for your overhaul what would it total? I assume that you have saved a few thousand $ by doing it yourself.

Congrats Eddie. I too am going to miss reading this thread. Now finish that lake and keep us updated on the progress. I was enjoying the lake thread also because I will be doing the same thing within a year or so.

Another great job Eddie. You are truly a "Jack of all trades!"

As for breaking it in... don't be afraid to use it. Varying your RPMs is your best bet. And as mentioned before... an oil and filter change after about 50 hrs.

I put the air filter, muffler and other assesories back on today, then put away my tools, got some water and tried to start it.

Nothing.

The dash lights all came on like normal, but nothign else is happening. I have a couple saftery features that wont let the engine start if they are not in the correct position, but that's not it. They ARE in the correct positions.

No click from the starter.

No noise at all.

No power is getting to the starter.

It's just like on a CUT when you try to start the engine when the PTO is still in gear.

I'm sure I did something, but for the life of me, I'm stumped.

Check from the ignition switch to the starter. It sounds like you might have knocked a wire loose or cut one of them. You might also check your battery terminals and cable ends, they might be corroded enough not to let a full draw from the batteries. If you have a battery checker you might check and see if you have a low or dead battery. One of the two batteries could be down and one battery would not be able to spin the starter.
