I have a new 2544 on order and the only thing I am concerned about is how it will perform in place of my old Snapper rear engine rider on hills. Does anyone out there use the suitcase weights on their tractor and does it make that much difference? Which is better, suitcase or wheel weights?

You won't need them. It will perform much better than your old RER. I think you'll be surprised just how well it does on hills.

Thanks for the info. I am the first in this area to buy a 2500 series, just luck that I found this site to get answers. My dealer only stocks the LT1500's and smaller tractors, but also stocks many of the zero turns.

You'll get more weight out of suitcase weights, but like CC says, I'm not sure it's needed for your conditions either. If that little RER could do it, a stock 2544 should do fine. I have some pretty severe inclines to mow and only get wheel-spin if I get carried away with speed/turns, etc. I keep the stock tires aired to specs or slightly less.
