Mahindra 4500
Hi, I am new to this forum and have only recently returned to using a tractor after many years. Have learned a lot by searching the forum, but still have a few unanswered questions. One thing I can't find is the weight of my loader. I have a 4500 (2006) with the ML260 made by Buhler. Seems like this would be easy to find, but have checked the paperwork, Buhler's internet site, and Mahindra 24/7 care with no luck. I think this is important to know to help determine tire pressure and what type trailer is needed to haul the tractor. Anyone know the total weight of the loader and mounting hardware? Thanks for any replies.

according to my personal notes I have the weight on a ML260 as 1850# on a KMW loader.....I however do not have any weights on the Buhler loaders. I would assume it would be pretty close but I'm not positive.

edit: I emailed Buhler because I like to have the weights on hand as well and they said it is 1825#.

Thanks for info RedRiver!

I have a 4530 with the ML245 loader. Does the 1560 lbs. include the bucket?
If not, do you have the weight for a Mahindra 72" bucket?

Thanks again,
Mud

Yes it does. However all the weights posted on the bigger loaders are for the pin on bucket. If you have the SKC package then you need to add about 100#.

Thanks Jeremy!

My ML245 has the skid-steer attachment. So, with bucket included, my loader weighs 1660lbs?

Thanks again,

That is actually the shipping weight on a pallet, but that should be close enough for government work!

I must say that the chart he posted looks strangely familiar. Also, the 266 is almost identical in weight to the 265. The only change was a modification to the mounting kit.

Jeremy you might have been the one to send me a list with some of those weights but I can't remember. (edit: nevermind, just found the sheet Mahindra faxed me)

I wish Mahindra would publish this spec in their brochures, it's extrememly helpful when trying to figure out what size trailer you need to haul a certain unit with the FEL.

Yeah... I sent the sheet to Mahindra some time back since I get calls on this all the time. The have obviously modified it to include loaders I don't build. The biggest issue is that until we start production and package the loader we don't know what it weighs and this is long after the manual is finished... I do agree however that they should publish that kind of thing.

no, i added the buhler loaders to my list. I actually didn't have any weights on the buhler's until this thread popped up and I emailed them.

I checked with my local Mahindra dealer and this is what he said.
The weight of my loader on my 4530 is as follows:
Loader = 1428lbs
Bucket = 350lbs
Total = 1778lbs

Red River or Jeremy, does that sound correct?

I am guessing that those numbers are about 100#'s heavy at the total, but still relatively close. No truck or trailer will notice that.

Jeremy,
But the Department of Public Saftey might noitice.:rolleyes: I made sure and took my Big RED Beast to the local scrap iron yard and had her weighed.;) She weighs 11080 pounds with the loader and backhoe. Add the trailer's axle weigh of 2660 pounds and that almost puts me at trailer gross weight at 13,740.:) Subtracting advertised weights for my 6520 4WD and the Bradco 511 backhoe gives me a loader weight of 2186. So the extra 86 pounds is skid steer attachement weight and fuel on board. Now my question.........How much does my 84 inch bucket weigh?
hugs, Brandi

Uh, a little less than our 84" buckets.:D
Jerrrrremy, whats the weight of our 78" & 84" buckets?:confused: My guess would be about 40lbs difference between them.:)

Ummm, I can't remember. Don't think we have ever weighed the 78" anyway.... I was looking for the 84" the other day, but never could find the email it should be in.
