Might be a way around that too. Someone correct me, but when I put a loader on my 8N, think I remember an ariticle here on using ports on the tractor (external test ports or something for the 3-pt). What I remember is it would be very slow for a loader, but in the case of a weed eater it wouldn't take that much to run it.

Cheep and simple. 2" tube to fit your 3ph reciever adapter to frame to mount old push mower engine with pulley to run spindle from old walk behind weedeater on spring mounted pivioting arm.

That test port might run a small hydraulic motor at a good speed but you would need to make a fittin ontop of the tractors trans/hydraulic tank as the test port only has a one way flow. That way it would have a return. The way Im familiar with the 8N and similar set ups was Ive put on a few of the daerborn rear loaders. You have to chain the 3point hitch down. It has an adjustable chain to let the lift raise the loader a few inches then it dead heads on the chains and the test port runs the loaders hydraulics up to the dump height.

In the 50's I bought a mower that had a disk with 4 sickle bar mower blades bolted on. The disk was 18" or so, when the blades got dull you just flipped them. Bought them by the box of 10. Can't remember the make but it lasted a long time. bcs

Right, you had to chain the 3-pt. Like to hear more about this and an illistration. Mine was a Wagner, and wanted to keep the 3-pt, so I added the front hyd. pump. From what I've read there was a way unless the lift (single acting cyl.), and only with a trip bucket was the only thing considered. Anyone have any info on this?

Ive got several pics on my computer that show the way it went on a Jubilee. About the same as an 8N but live hydraulics. I may have to email them to someone to get them squooshed down to fit. It shows the test ports and a the rig to chain the lift arms down.
