Machine shop rule was no jewelry while on the clock…

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I don't wear rings simply because they drive me crazy, same for wristwatches. When wearing either, %110 of my attention is drawn to having a foreign object on my hand/wrist. Even if I'm carrying something, the ring or watch feels intrusive.

That's why they want to to wear them...never forget...;)

Knew house painter without a ring finger. He fell off a silly 6ft ladder. Caught the ring on a facia board nail. He hung for sometime with feet inches off the ground unable to climb back up

Dad's roofer friend lost his wedding band finger, snagged on roofing nail.

I haven't had mine off of my finger in close to 30 years. Probably need to have it cut off.

I think it shrunk. 😀 I tend to wear gloves, so it won't get caught. Had to tape it when I was still playing Rugby.

My daughter has her 'nice' ring and then a silicone band for the rest of the time. She's an RN, so jewelry is not very practical.

I started getting "Viking's Hand." So I wear the ring on a thin silver chain around my neck.
My poor wife had a spill and broke her elbow. Her fingers swelled up so much that the ER almost had to cut the rings off.

My wife has Vikings hands. It helps a lot by putting your fingertips together and push so palms almost touch, then out so palms are far apart...fingertips touching the whole time.

I stopped wearing mine after a coworker nearly burned his finger off when it got between the wrench and battery terminals he was disconnecting. Talk about INSTANT heat.

Dad was a truck driver after WWII for a couple years. He said he stopped wearing his wedding ring after he saw a man jump off the side of a flat-bed trailer with side-boards on it. The ring caught on something and stripped all the meat off his ring finger.
I wear rings when DW and I are going out for whatever reason, but at home I never wear a ring.

I realize people getting injuries from wearing a ring is a real thing but I often wonder if the second hand stories are real or not.
