Wear strips

A few pics of the wear strips that I installed on my loader bucket. There was a lot of good info posted in reply to my original post 'Type of steel', regarding what type was best. Since they are now installed I figured a new thread on the wear strips themselves was appropriate. It might be interesting to see what others have done to protect the somewhat thin loader bottom from wear.
I also welded a lip on the back of the bucket that forms a 'V' with the wear strips, this helps protect the loader edge and also acts sorta like a mini cutting edge when back draging.

Syncro you did a real nice job adding the wear strips on that bucket. Looks to me like you won't be wearing it out for a few years to come. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I usually hard-face this corner, but haven't on my MF 1440 yet. Mine wears more on this corner on both sides than anywhere else.
