wanted 3TN84 injector shims

Hello All,

I am looking for injector shims for my JD 955 with a 3TN84 Yanmar. I am rebuilding some of the injectors and I just bought 150P244 nozzles but will need some shims to get the right pressure pop which I believe is around 2800.

Any help in locating some various thickness shims to help is greatly appreciated.

I dont think ur gonna find them on line.?? and they come in specific sizes.. AND they come in packs of that size..
With a new nozzle, the pressure is usually right on or within 200 psi of spec.. which is the allowable MAX tolerance..
U might get lucky & find some info on the Hoye website,??

I'm curious....How are you measuring the pop pressure? Homebrew stand?
Any place there is big water there ought to be a dealer selling Yanmar marine engines. They use many of the same parts.

I bought a pop tester on Ebay for around 80 USD and it was quick delivery.

The new injectors tests around 200 bar / 2850 Psi and the do the multiple rapid pops, the old injectors would most just squirt and would be from 1000 - 3000 psi and one had a clogged hole so only three of the 4 streams would come out. I suspect the nozzles are worn on the used ones so I bought some of ones on Aliexpress 12.90 USD + 5.85 shipping for a set 4.

IF I'm reading this right.. the injectors are popping at 2850psi & the spec is 2800.??
If so.. leave them alone.. Spec is max. 200 psi difference on shim set injectors..
U can change that difference w the tightening of the nozzle nut.. did u TORQUE it.?? {50-55 ftlbs}

So the ones popping at 2850 are the new ones that I used as a baseline. The used ones which are not popping at all and squirt from 1000-3000 psi, I have 6 used ones. I ordered 4 new nozzles for about $20 USD and ordered new shims for about $10 for 4 sets.
