want down force

i have a jd37 loader on my 1020; iknow that i need to replace the cylnders for the loader up/dn, i'm not sure the GRESEN 2712 two spool can be piped to allow me to have force down on my bucket?

If the cyl on your loader are DA cyl, then you can have down force.

Do you have float?

After finding some pictures of the JD loader, it appears the cyl is an SA cyl.

You could perhaps change out the cyl for a DA cyl and a new joystick valve and have regen, float, and down force.

Your hyd system is also closed center, so here is a joystick valve that I would recommend.

Thanks for your reply, you are correct on my JD37 loader has single action cylinders. The bucket has a dual action cylinder. I know I will have to replace the two single action cylinders with the two dual action cylinders.

Since,the GRESEN 2712 control valves one lever works my dual action bucket, can the side that works the single action cylinder now be replumbed or repiped to allow for downforce operation on the dual action cylinder? I have worked around hydraulics but, I need help with definitions such as: floats and pb.

Show me a picture of the valve work ports.

I suspect one of the work ports is plugged.

Does your valve look like the one in the picture in the link?

I believe the large hex nut is the Closed center plug.

You don't need to worry about PB as your valve is configured for closed center .

All closed center valves are in parallel.
