Hey TN Hobby,
Sorry for the delay -- I've been traveling (work, work, work...)
Here's my "quick-detach" solution: Menard's / Home Depot / Lowe's / TSC -- any of 'em,
Get garden-hose fittings with barbs for the spray-hose. Female on one side / male on the other -- then you won't ever hook up backwards... (Also, I used "poly" on the suction side / brass on the pressure side -- it's a double-check on the hook-up. Even the wife won't screw that up! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
I really like the cam-lock devices that are proposed by other posters -- unfortunately, I couldn't find 3/4" stuff around here. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Also, I did the same GH fittings on the line to the boom -- hooked up a wand. Add a ball-valve below, and I can direct to either the boom, or the wand. (I suppose, I could go "both" if I left it 1/2-open -- that way, I could spray "the other side of the fence, while I'm doing the pasture... Hmmm...)
As for the "books", my rig came with a book for the pump, the Tee-jet, the sprayer, etc., etc... One of 'em has a VERY NICE explanation of spray rates based on ground speed, pressure, etc... Even a very nice explanation of how to determine ground speed, etc...
Enjoy!
