VTS report

/ VTS report #11
Its been a while since this post and I was just curious how everyones VTS's are holding up, if there are any updates or new comments on wear, ride, etc. I am looking at this as a possible option and just curious how they are working out, how much they cost (initially, maintenance, etc.), if there's any new info on them... Thanks.

/ VTS report #12
I bought a set of the vts tracks in 2005 and put on my 90XT Case. I had been using Grouser OTT tracks previously. I felt like it made the machine 1.5 times better. I dig and load trees. We could get into fields and machine harvest trees when the ground was soft. Not suprisingly the tracks required more power to move the machine under heavy loads thru the mud. I think I have only been stuck 3 or 4 times where I needed to be pulled out. When the weather gets dry we take the tracks off and put the tires back on. I did have an idler bearing go bad and had to replace the entire idler unit. Two years ago I decided to service the bearings in the housings. Two units were full of dirt. I called Loegering and they recommended not disassembling the units I did anyway and replaced bearings, races and seals. I think that putting a grease fitting in the hub or cover plate would be a good idea. Last year I was pushing a heavy load and one of the rubber tracks broke. I estimate that I have put over 1000 hrs on the vts units. I haven't replaced the track yet but keep watching ebay and other equipment threads for one to show up for sale.

I was wondering how the VTS system compares to a ctl, as far a performanse and ride.
