If the tractor you are looking at has a factory cab option, and you can swing it, get the factory cab, no comparison IMHO.
But, if you want to keep dry and warm, but enjoy the fresh air during the three other seasons, get the vinyl cab. A factory cab will add $6K to the price of a CUT.
You should go kick some tires, sit in a few, and see how you feel.

I've found that a golf cart cover jury-rigged over my tuff top works well and is very cost effective

Factory cabs are in a class of their own and worth every penny they cost if you can get one. If they have air and heat they are year round confort zones. A vinyl cab will be a windbreak.I am always glad when the weather allows removal.

mine keeps me pretty warm...heat from the engine and, depending, some solar uptake...you could always install a heater cut into your radiator lines.
Also available is a heated seat pad that doesn't draw much juice.
wind is your enemy and you can find "windbreaks" for some tractors...topless but shield you from the wind and have proven effective through the years.
