Ventrac Block Heater

Hi

We live in southern Ontario, near Cobourg. We just purchased a used Ventrac 4200, 31 h.p. gas engine. It would not start on the first really cold day (minus 2 deg F; minus 14 deg C).

Does anyone here know about block heaters for 31 hp gas Ventracs; like whether there is a port on the block, where it is, what spec for the heater etc? Also, would anyone recommend a heated battery blanket?

I have an older Kubota B7100. There is no provision on the engine to install a block heater.

I found a block heater that fits into the lower radiator hose. All you do is cut out a piece of the hose ,and install it with hose clamps. Works great ,and I think it came from NAPA.30-40 minutes is all that is required in -20 C weather,and it should fire rightup.
