Varmit Proofing

/ Varmit Proofing #11
Kill the vermin. I place Tomcat or equivalent poison where domestic pets can't get into it. Mouse/rat poison works because mice and rats can't vomit out the poison once they realize something's not right.
They don't always die where expected? Then a valuable work dog got killed.

The only poison I use is lead. Mostly is a waste of time but is fun.

I inadvertently killed a wonderful tomcat pet we had a few years ago. I put Tomcat poison blocks in our garage, a poisoned mouse got out and the pet cat ate the mouse (or enough to get the poison). The cat died within a few days and he was 20#.
Now snap traps baited with peanut butter.
Groundhogs a .22LR hollow point works fine.
Up close I'll use my 12ga.
A really good mouser cat is worth their weight in gold. I'd give anything to have my in-laws cat "Meese". A Russian Blue. I saw him kill an adult raccoon and an opposum. A Rottweiler tried eating his food and Meese tore his face up. For years my wife wore a "My cat beat up your dog" t shirt.

i've heard mothballs work. And stop feeding the barn cat so he gets hungry.
Nope, odors do not affect any rodent that can thrive in a city sewer.
The reason rodents chew wiring is, the covering is soy-based and tastes good to them.
