valve cover making sound

My 5600 has a ticking sound coming from under the valve cover. Not too loud.
1) should I be concerned?
2) if I take the valve cover off, what do I look for?

It may or may not be a concern. Start by adjusting your valves. There could be excessive play in one or more.
