SxS's are a lot of fun and useful. I had two and sold both. Just not enough use in my case to justify them.

You will regret not getting a cab in the winter. My Polaris 850 was next to useless in the winter but you Kubby is heavier so good luck!!

If you like older Ford OBS trucks (in mint condition), I can understand that. It's a 97 F350 4x4 crew cab with a built 7.3 and a built E4OD. 99K miles, never seen snow (stays garaged all winter). Bought it new in 97. Great truck. Farm truck in the summer and hauls our truck camper too.

You are supposed to be looking at the Sidekick, not the truck.....:D

My 2000 F250 7.3L has 260K miles and is rusted down. Bought a replacement Saturday. 2002 F250 7.3L 130K miles Texas truck. Excellent condition.

Thanks for the update on ur Sidekick. Anxious to hear useage reports.

Not planning on wintertime use other than maybe a bale of hay once in a while. I have cab tractors with heat for winter.

My wife bought it, not me. It's her's, not mine anyway.

That truck will be in my will. Until then, not for sale. Just switched insurance carriers to one that will insure it for actual value, not what the NADA book says it's worth. I insured it for 20 grand, not the 7500 NADA says.

Not about to even consider a new truck for 80 grand that has all the EPA mandated garbage on it. My 97 has no emissions garbage at all. Not even a crankcase recirc system. Took that off and did a road draft tube long ago. 21 highway and with the TC in the bed, 17 highway.

I have a 1985 CJ7 ..long story behind it but it痴 insured with Haggerty for stated value ( 25k ) for 400.00 a year... if it was insured normally with full coverage it would be close to 1k a year and covered for book value... probably 4500.00

Fords are prone to the wheel wells rusting out. Even though I don't drive mine during the winter, when I wash it, I always wash above the wheel arches on the undersides of the fenders. I use Fluid Film on it every other year. Good stuff.

The Sidekick is doing field duty today, pulling the tine harrow to set the seed and fertilizer in the hayfield out back. Put the winch on, no big deal but running the power cables was (used welding cable). Had to take the entire skid pan off as well as the right front tire to access everything.

I've always wondered about Fluid Film. I'll try some. Thanks for the tip.

I like it but it don't last forever especially living on a gravel / dirt road. I need to re spray mine about every 2 years but I think the truck is a pretty good testament to the fact it works. Really eliminates body squeaks as well, sort if a not intended benefit.

It is messy to use, don't wear anything you want to go to church in when using it.....:D

I wear one of those one piece Tyvek sweat suits.... You know the ones, the suits that makes you stink after 5 minutes in it.

Was at my dealer yesterday and was talking to the lead mechanic, we are pretty good friends away from the dealership and he asked me how the winch install went and I told him winch was a piece of cake but the power cables were a real pizzer and he laughed and said 'welcome to the club'. Told me there was no easy way except take them apart to route the cables. He told me putting a snowplow on a Kubota diesel RTV was easy too but routing the cables and plumbing was the real pizzer.

I'm familiar now.

Used it to pull the tine harrow today as I fertilized my back hayfield and overseeded it as well so I wanted to 'set' the seed and fertilizer. In the past I used my Honda Foreman 400 quad to pull it and it worked the quad pretty hard. Not so with the Sidekick. Started out in low range in 2wd but shifted into high range when I realized it had way more guts that the quad had. Glided across the field with the tine harrow and the tight turning radius allowed me to make less repetitive passes too. Hasn't been in 4wd yet.

So far, all good except the tailgate rattles and there is no adjustment that I can see. I'm thinking I'll add rubber bump stops between the tailgate and the box. That should eliminate the rattling tailgate.

Used it quite a bit today and the fuel gauge never moved off full.
