Of course, painting is only as good as the prep. And I'm not talking primer. Best would be acid wash and sandblasting, but then you might as well get it galvanized.

It's just remarkable how Powder Coating is being marketed as if it is a "superior" or upscale feature. Now, if a salesman tells me that, I would cut him off before he could finish his sentence and ask if I can get paint or galvanizing.

I have an Onan generator here that I just got. Anything powder coated is flaked off, including the control panel and the main panels with enamel are perfect. Madening!

I did just see a trailer ad, mentioning an acid bath and sandblasting, then powder coating. Ok, sounds great. But sandblasting has to be amoung the most miserable job imaginable, especially in the summer, and I have yet to meet a sandblaster that does a miticulous job.

So I've had the trailer for 2 weeks now. I've been working on customizing it to fit my vision of my perfect trailer.

I've added the 19 D-Rings, stained and sealed the wood, added pressure treated walls, added a large 6 cubic foot tool box and made a spare tire carrier. Oh, and put any skid steps on both sides.

At this point, it's about done and ready for service.

Well, color me confused. If you've had it for 2 weeks, that would mean you already owned it for several days when you first posted here on 3/1/19 asking for advice.

I purchased it late afternoon of March 2nd, one day after making this original post.

So, I hauled the B2650 with the loader and backhoe and noticed that the load range C 205/75-15 1820 Max load tires were looking really bulged and overloaded. That's the only use so far, but I didn't like it.

So I called my tire guy and he is getting me a set of 4 225/75-15 load E tires with a 2,800 lb Max load. Monday I'll get the wheels down there and have the old tires (maybe 50 miles on them) removed and the new ones installed.

What should I ask for my nearly brand new tires on Craigslist? Would $50 each be fair? Go higher?

You could ask the tire guy to give you credit for the trade in tires. They always have a deal on "take offs". Easier than trying to sell 'em. Half price (for the load rang C ones) would be a good asking price point, though. They also would be much easier to sell if mounted w/wheels, rather than "loose".

I agree about being easier to sell mounted on wheels, but it doesn't make sense at all for me to sell them mounted on wheels for half the price of the tires and half the price of the wheels and then I go buy the same wheels again at full price to mount my load range E tires to. So I figure take the lesser of the losses...

I'm not really one to go forth and buy fancy aluminum trailer wheels to haul my dirty toys with... So I'd just be buying a basic steel wheel again anyways.

Me too. I just put load range E tires on my enclosed trailer, to be safe. Those load range C tires scared me too. I understand.
