uses for a front end loader

/ uses for a front end loader #22
hey guys i need some exuses for me to get my dad to buy a front end loader for my tractor even though we dont need one

Boy, I could not agree with all the posts more. I made a set of pallet forks this year and kick myself for not doing it sooner. I cannot imagine not having a FEL. Apparently, I like the rest of you have a need. but we cannot assume that Cajun would have the same. All depends on his living situation, but I have to think would find some very good uses :)

"Runner, Is that a black seat on your ride?"

No, it's a slip-on seat cover from John Deere. I like the concept, but the cover is too small for the seat, even though it is stated by JD that it will fit this seat.

I wouldn't dream of a tractor without a loader. That is by far the most useful implement.

UM let see,
Price difference between R-1 and R-4 tire options= few hundred bucks

Price of like size brand of tractors= Few thousand dollars

Price of loader you thought "don't need" when you need it = priceless
Trust us, You will need and find a use for a loader if you own a tractor. Makes the thing even more useful. Here is just a freckle of what I use a loader for

You can use your loader for scooping up all the money you saved for not having to call someone who had one when you needed it!:D

How do you paint the house, prune trees or put up Xmas lights without a frontend loader?:D

I don't mean to sound harsh or sarcastic but since it has already been said

Why bother with excuses, just buy it yourself.

Instead of looking for excuses or "reasons" to coerce your father into buying you a loader, just go buy your own. It is your tractor isn't it ?

Spruce Deere:

I'll bet the critter in photo 3 wished you didn't have a loader.

Not only the loader got play in butcher'n, it had a roll as the pack mule too. AND not to mention unloading the freezer from the pick-up that the elk ended up in:D The loader is half of the tractors duties.

Barely smoking, sorry I didn't see your post before now.
The implement is a hedge trimmer. Three cylinders and a hydraulic motor. Vertical cut up to 14' 9", horizontal cut up to 10' 6". I could no longer keep up with the growth of my numerous hedges. I have already posted photos of the thing, but here are a few.

With hooks welded to your bucket it turns an already versatile tool into an amazing tool. I carry my 100gallon diesel tank from the fuel stand to the truck and back when I need to take it to town to get a fill. Just drive the bucket under the front of the tank and hook the chains to the hooks on the bucket and tank off we go. I carry my 3pt blower and 500lb air compressor the same way. Of course can also do novel things like actually carry dirt in them as well. They make a great post pounder as well.

For those who asked, you will find the same pictures of the hedge trimmer (could also be used to cut grass in difficult places) plus a few more in the thread "New JD 3520 : she's a beauty !" pages 4, 5 and 7.

I do agree that working with my FEL is my all time favorite. However, removing snow from my driveway in a big storm that involved lifting high on a side hill is the only time I have tipped my tractor all the way over. Careful out there.
