I figured it's hydraulic in function, so why not. I'm looking to purchase a quality US made floor jack in the 3 to 4 ton range. Any experience, feedback or recommendations?

I'm not sure if I'm spelling this right, but check out hein-warner. Afaik they are still made here and I believe northern carries them.

I have a Hein/Werner 2.5 ton floor jack. A bit pricy but good quality.

From the Hein-Werner website
Assembled in the US with US and Global components

Remember - Made in the USA doesn't mean what it used to. I just bought a HF 3 ton unit for about $80. I assembled it in the US from Global components (put the handle in and the wheels on). I was amazed at the prices for non-Chinese models. I would have paid a small premium for a US MADE product but a 500% price difference was a deal breaker. I saved several hundred dollars to spend on other tractor toys.

Back in the late '70's, at school we had 2 Walker floor jacks that were the best jacks I've ever seen. They were the longer type, maybe 3' wheel base. Would love to get my hands on one of those. I have seen them auction for over $400 in the last few years.

Sorry to say, but you'll have a hard time finding a new Made in America jack, with totally American made parts. Let us know where your journey ends up. With all the parts and liability, it is amazing you can find a jack for less than $200.

I was hoping to keep it in the the $400 range, but after seeing the Milwaukee Model 40 priced at just under a grand, I'm going to seriously consider upping the budget. I'm tired of buying foreign junk jacks that simply don't last. I'd like a quality jack to pass down to the kids with the farm someday.

hein warner are still very good. Search member hiball on garage journal. hes a jack expert and insists that hw are still good as ever.

The model 40 is a 4 ton, they have a model 20 that is much less if it meets your requirements (check clearance and capacity). That said,i don't think anyone regrets buying the 40. Lots of satisfied owners on garagejournal.

Got an email back today from Milwaukee. Their price direct with an online 10% discount is $787.50 plus shipping for a model 40. Hey, that's $200 less than what's available online through a dealer.

That's a good price for a model 40.

While waiting on the call from Milwaukee I picked up this new US Jack 20 ton bottle jack. Price on it is $290 plus shipping. Picked it up for $84 plus shipping on eBay. This boy's heavy at nearly 40 pounds. Made in USA. Bigger than I really need, but couldn't pass on the price.

Got the email yesterday from Milwaukee that the Model 40 is built and ready to ship. I called them shortly after with payment info and it should be shipping out next Tuesday. It took 4 months, hopefully it's worth the wait. The woman I spoke with told me they only build 50 Model 40s at a time, which is why it's such a wait. I'm looking forward to getting a quality US made floor Jack!

Picked up the Milwaukee Model 40 at the freight terminal yesterday. It's on a pallet in the back of my truck and locked up under my cap. Hopefully it'll come out later today.
