Upgrade Advice

Hey All,

I am new to the forum and have been doing a bit of research to upgrade from my JD 1026R. I currently have about 11 acres, mostly all wooded. I have had the 1026r for about 4 years now and it seems a bit to small for my needs. I have a 1300' driveway that I will either plow or snow blow, property cleanup (down trees from Sandy etc, so a grapple might be a good implement) and hauling firewood ( i have a large dump trailer that I use), and your basic FEL work. So something with a mid mount PTO, more lift capacity ( front and 3pt) and a heavier machine would be ideal.

I have been looking at some used tractors 30-38hp range from JD, Mahindra and New Holland. Any suggestions on models etc that I would key in on for my needs?

Kubota L series, JD 3 series, Yanmar YT235 would all work well for you. The Korean brands, LS, TYM, Brandon, Kioti, are all good too.

The New Hollands are rebadged Korean LS tractors. If you're shopping NH compare to LS, there may be a cost savings. The smaller Mahindra's are rebadged Korean TYM tractors.

What dealers are closest to you? And what's your budget?

The mid-pto seems to be used more on the smaller size machines. If mid-pto is a must, that's going to limit your options quite a bit.

Mid PTO is not a must, I just thought maybe for future snow blower needs. My budget is under $20k with loader.

Take a look at the LS XG3135. Wide stance, 35hp, huge loader lift capacity. New with shuttle shift tranny should be $17k.
