Anyone came up with any good solutions to unloading bulk items from a non dump landscape trailer? I am thinking along the lines of pulling it off on tarps with the tractor, so I can get to it with the loader.

I will be using a deckover trailer and have been thinking of this same issue. I am considering the idea of using my rear blade on my loader-mounted three-point hitch to reach over the top and pull or push the material over the side. Not sure how well this would work with a trailer with fenders though...

I have seen threads on here where people said they used those roll-up truck bed unloaders on trailers and they said they worked pretty good for trailers too.

By using tarps, do you mean to lay them on the trailer first, then dump your material/bulk items on top of the tarp?? If that's what you mean, then I doubt that method will work well. Most likely the weight of the material or items will cause the tarps to rip when you start pulling them off. Or did I misundertsand you completely??

There have been some pic's of folks here on this forum using the FEL to pick up the front (tongue) of a trailer (loaded with material such as dirt or gravel) and dumping it that way. Of course, you probably wouldn't be able to do that with a really big, heavy trailer but it should work with trailers in the 5'x10' size range.

I just use the drop gate and drive onto the trailer and unload it one bucket at a time using the FEL.

Back up really fast and slam on the brakes?

I've seen lift bags used at our local port where grain or soil or something is lifted. It's kinda like a tarp, but strong material with sewn handles. They just dump the grain/soil on it and fold the edges to a point for lifting. They are really large, but I'm sure there is a smaller version. Don't know where to get them or how much they may cost...just my observation.

I didn't think about that when I unloaded my landscape trailer. I went from the side lowering my bucket and getting what I could and then using the shovel to shovel what was left that I couldn't get, into my bucket. I always try and work smarter not harder but I guess in my case, I wasn't to smart.

Not sure whats the problem? Just use your car jack stands in the back and jack the front until the whole thing is stable. Leave tow vehicle attached. drive on and unload the materail with the bucket. That's what I did with my kubota and landscape trailer.
