Ultimate Shredder Idea......

Has anyone put together this style of shredder that is PTO powered ???

Think it could be about 2' long, with maybe 8" diameter chippers.
And run on 20 or less PTO hp ???

I would think one could flame or plasma cut the basic shape of the cutters and then weld on a carbide tooth or metal lathe bit making a two row unit about 6 inches wide, and slow gear it, most look like there hydraulic motors as they reverse when jammed,

Yes... I have thought about the "reverse when jammed" thing..... Definitely a job for a slip clutch.....
I guess it would be like any other pto chipper, chipper/shredder, if it jammed you would have to unhook the pto shaft and turn it back....

depending on your tractor once disengaged, one could use some like a combine header reverse,

some of the first add on ones were just a flex plate/ fly wheel, and a starter motor. for the reverser,

I just dont get why people would want to burn that much fuel to generate fuel... This isnt woodchips, its mulch... In Eastern Europe i found a type of chipper which is much more energy efficient and creates material that burns just as good:

Just check youtube for "rebak" and you'll find plenty of home made contraptions that have a large capacity with a minimal power (fuel consumption) requirement

The shredders like that that I have seen reverse directions if they over load. If you just went one direction and slipped a clutch you would be stopping to clear any jam.
