Mornin,

I've had a slow drip leak at the mid PTO seal on a 2004 TZ24DA for awhile. Needed to do the 300 hr service and change all fluids so I decided to fix/replace the oil seal. After draining hydro fluid, ran a self tapping screw into old seal, pulled it out and tapped in a new seal. After changing filters, refilled with new MasterTran fluid and found the leak was not repaired. In fact it is worse. Was wondering if anyone has any insight? Does the sleeve need to be replaced as well, if so how? Also does the sleeve seem to be too far forward? Thanks. pto pic.jpgpto pic.jpgpto pic.jpg

I have a 2005 TZ24DA and have recently noticed the same problem on my tractor. I was wondering if you have come through the problem? I am thinking of replacing both the seal and the sleeve but welcome any insight you may have into this problem.

I have replaced that seal twice on my 05, last time i used a very fine grade on the inner sleeve, holding so far, just frustrating.

I went ahead and replaced both the sleeve and the seal last week. Ran the mid PTO at various RPMs both loaded and unloaded for about an hour to test it. So far it is holding. I have gone ahead and ordered another sleeve and seal just to have in case it happens again. Seems to be pretty common on these tractors.

Anybody figure a good fix for this. i need to finally replace mine after 450hrs. put a stick through it when bushhogging some small saplings.
Also, anyone know the part number of the seal? or have a diagram of this?

Visit Messicks web site. They have complete part breakdowns for your tractor.

Thanks, got the seal at local NH dealer for about $10. They showed me how to replace. Very easy fix. Used a pick tool to pull the seal out and a deep well 30mm socket to set the new one.

What was your method of slipping the new sleeve on the shaft?
