there are abandoned bulldozers in Alaska and Antarctica, but you ship!..I would be so much safer if someone would just give me a bulldozer.

If anyone cares, I got three stumps out of the ground this weekend. I waited for a rainy period to loosen up the dirt, and I tried again. It makes a big difference.

I have three blackberry plants I need to put in the ground, and now I have a place to put them. My ground is sandy, so I'm wondering if I should put a barrier under the plants to slow the dispersion of water. I was thinking of burying pieces of a tarp maybe 15" down. The soil here gets wet fast, and then it dries out fast. I plan to use fancy bagged soil that supposedly retains water well.
the other ways, like using explosives, or renting a tractor mounted jackhammer or a huge rock saw, would be much more expensive though, but a lot faster!..I tried wedges and feathers today. It was hilarious. A lot of bang for not much work.
The rock has projections in various directions, and my theory is that if I break them off, the rock will give up and come out.
Today I made two cuts. I cut one wing off the rock. It was pinned against the rock, so I could not move it. I moved closer to the rock and made another cut, and the piece between the wing and the main rock lifted right out.
It was way too hot to work very long. My clothes were literally soaked in sweat after about 90 minutes, so I called it a day after two cuts.
The rock is definitely coming out. Either it will lose its grip and come out on the end of a strap, or I'll take it out in pieces. The wedge and feather suggestion was not what I was hoping to hear, but these tools are getting the job done.

If it is, I'm sure they'll pay you for it, or at least remove it at no cost. Might want to check on this. Don't know who to contact, but I'd start with the State university's Geology department. If so, I'm making it much easier to transport to a museum.
It resembles a petrified baby elephant, sitting on his butt. Very interesting.
I am trying to get your perspective and I keep tilting my head like a dog. Which end is the butt and which end is the head?
