Trip permit, or not?

/ Trip permit, or not? #41
Thanks, Jon. I figure the round trip for the trailer was 1000 miles and I paid $850 for delivery, or .85/mile, or $1.70/loaded mile.
I can’t see driving my truck with all the expenses and related wear & tear for .85/mile, so I’m happy with my decision.

This was an interesting read.. any issues with the trailer itself, not being able to pre-inspect?

Had it delivered. Painful to pay for it, but as was mentioned in other posts, I would have paid almost as much and put 1000 miles on my truck and lost a couple days.
Im happy with the decision

Very smart decision!

Yes. I didnt like the spare tire mount. I incorrectly assumed the spare would be mounted on the neck of the gooseneck. Its mounted under the frame-kind of vulnerable to bottoming out over humps in farm fields. Not much I can do about it, other than remove it.
Also, one of the clear plastic oil bath hub caps leaks a little, but I wouldnt have seen it until I was underway towards home. They sent me a new cap & gasket.
