Tried out a new 7040 and a Case 75c

Re: Tried out a new 7060 and a Case 75c

I've owned a 2012 NH t4.75 for several months now and have zero complaints. The cab is great. Yesterday bush hogging the air and cab was well worth the cost. Ran a little warm. Never hot. Will blow out the radiator good today. Rears are set out wide at 90" and loaded. Very stable on the hills. Found a 1000 hour tractor for 12k under the cost of a new one. Farmer owned and well maintained. That is a good price on the 75C. That's what my dealer gets and they are very competitive.

I'm not saying which tractor I think you should buy or not buy. IMO most of your major manufacturers make good machines in general and the best think to do is test look at and test all the tractors you're interested in and make your decision based on what you like best. But I was going to recommend also looking at a MF 4700 series tractor as well. I tend to think of the MF 4700 series as a main competitor to the Farmall C series. I looked at them some before buying my JD, but they were a little more tractor than I was looking for. They're a little larger, a little more expensive, and better equipped features wise than a 3 cylinder JD 5E series, but they're very comparable to a T4.75/Farmall 75C in features/size/weight/price/etc. Something like a 4707 or 4708 would be a very comparable tractor.

MF makes a fine tractor. The dealer is very very important in this case. I will be purchasing the tractor to snow blow up to 100 driveways. I will need a loaner and parts quickly. This dealer is close to me and very very capable. Imagine having 75 driveways to go with a dead tractor? Nightmares. :)

out of interest, what will be the typical charge per driveway snow removal? sounds lucrative

Rngrr.....

The M 7060 hydraulic spec is in the website brochure. Tablet would not download it for some reason, 16.2 gpm is stated to be available at the remotes and mid-mount loader circuit constantly. See screenshot.

OTHER POSTER: The MF 4700 is in A larger class than the 75C. It also is 100 per cent built, assembled in China. Doesn't mean good or bad, it is what it is......

There were issues W/ initial shipments but don't remember the specifics. Zetor does produce a competitive model but dealer network somewhat suspect.

Considering $$ and quality, OP should be quite satisfied. However w/ anticipated road travel, kubota is faster.

I would try to swap the bias ply tires for radials before signing the deal. Tire wear and ground contact footprint would warrant the switch.

Is that $400 per occurrence or a $400 contract that includes x amount of times plowing/snow-blowing? Just curious, what is your average driveway length and how much time would you say it takes on average to clean the driveway?

Sounds low to me for a whole season with average 150" of snowfall a year. You should up your price or put rider in the contract that it covers so many plow trips and charge extra for more than the standard limit. You have to pay for the tractor, commercial insurance for you and the tractor, diesel fuel, maintenance costs on the tractor including tire wear, etc. plus all your labor time. I looked up your location - just realized you are near salmon country (you could be my new best NY buds and I could come visit you in October :D) - and depending on how long the driveways are and the time expended just wondering if you are charging enough to make it worth your while. Down here in PA I hired one of my former drivers who started an excavation business to plow for me. He charges $130 for each plowing occurence at my store parking lot which is 80' x 40' in front, an alley down the side and about 60' x 60' in the back and he is giving me a break.

We have plow trucks here starting at 200 a season. Everyone has one. I will average 500 a driveway with a starting price of 400.
