Tricked out RTV900

Wouldn't the triangular tires give it kind of a bumpy ride?

It is kind of a wacky looking machine. Does it have a special purpose? I don't know what the small tracks are for.

Cliff, the tracks are for really sloppy mud and getting up on top of snow. They add a massive amount of surface area over tire contact patches. Here's a link to an article extolling their virtues--which for the $4500 price of admission /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif oughta be pretty dagnabbed huge!

That is pretty cool. After reading the article, I guess it's an attempt to get some of the benefits of regular tracks and still be able to steer with the front. Nifty idea. Not cheap, but if you need something like this, then you do what you have to. I can't imagine what the competition would be.

I thought this thing looked really cool except for the bench seat up high in the rear bed. The RTV is fairly tall as it is. If you add the approx. 4" of extra height for the tracks and look how high the rear bed mounted seat is, with the trees in my neck of the woods, your rear passengers would spend most of the timd ducking or getting whacked off of the RTV by tree branches! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Otherwise, I thought this looked like the ultimate hunting or search and rescue vehicle.

Dargo, I thought the same thing about the height of the rear seat--plus, the ROPS would now consist of human skulls, and the vehicle COG would be completely altered, although the weight of the track system would certainly counteract that to some extent. I'd sure hate to be one of the riders in that highchair--or the driver responsible for their lives.

a better paint job than a stock one. how about lots of chrome? A few add-ons doesnt make it that exciting. Now the front end loader ive seen on an RTV was pretty cool. A few different colors would be cool too. Different seat covers.

Chrome on a hunting vehicle? To blind the birds and scare away the deer???

More colors? Again, is that to confuse the animals in the woods? Or to alert them that you are there?

Different seat covers might be a nice touch if they provided more funtionality. For a hunting rig I'd want something in a mat finish and non-absorbant so it would repel a mild rain. What, isn't that what it has?

I am going to have to disagree with you. Each tool has a purpose, it is fairly obvious that this is a RTV tricked out as a hunting vehicle. The factory camo paint is better than the Kubota orange. A FEL on this isn't going to serve much of a purpose while hunting unless you plan on running down pheasants and crushing them at high speed with the loader bucket??? I would agree that there are different degrees to which someone can trick out a vehicle, but I would say that this is a nicely tricked out hunting rig. The tracks are amazingly functional additions, the paint, while a factory option is functional, the extra high rear seat makes a nice spot for upland game hunters, the side step makes access to the rear seat easier and the front rack is great for carrying the game home.
