Now we're talking!!!! Actually, if the V is shaped and sharpened right it will dig into the trunk. Only thing I'd question is that his fruit trees don't appear to root very well.

Very cool though. Makes me want to copy it. Maybe a next Winter project!!!!

I'm thinking a puller with a sliding mechanism that has teeth for grip and as you approach the trunk there's a V shaped collar that tightens as you lift like a slip knot sort of.

That way you'd have grip that only gets stronger as you lift but when you lower it opens up.

That's pretty close. Won't ever get stuck because you just lower it and like a pipe wrench the harder you lift the tighter it grabs. Could even be made more vertical and have pipe wrench type teeth for more power.

I think we are on to something here, Bruce.

That back piece could be a ssqa and with two of the curved tooth arms facing each other it would make an awesome tree puller. Just backing up would allow you to reposition and you could put the tree down to release them.

Could be made for 3pt as well.

I had thought of something like that for my little sub compact. 6" cylinder with a place to hook a chain mounted on the 3 point. Set it on the ground and hook up the chain pull the leaver and POP. Hopefully the tree not the chain. I only have a few scattered trees so the chain would work well and it would have more power closer to the cylinder. Ed

What I like is all the tractor is providing is hydraulic power and the ability to carry it. No stress on the tractor chassis or FEL.
