Trashed Spreader... What to make?

I replaced a very old Fertilizer spreader with a new one recently. The old one was rusted through and the cone was not worth repairing.

I thought about making a carry-all out of the frame to haul my chipper around on. Before I do this I thought I would check and see if anyone on TBN has made anything out of a fertilizer spreader frame.

It seems a shame to waste a nice 3-pt attachment.

I have a frame like yours. I put arms on it and them plywood. I used it as a carryall. Then I put a back up on it and mounted a 100 gal water tank that can be removed. I then attached some hardware so I can swing a 6' long piece of 6" steel pipe. I pull it down the gravel drive to level it. I have a post on the rear that I put an ATV spreader on and stack the bagged seed on the front of the carrier. It has turned out to be a very useful tool for me.

If the gear box is any good you can make alot of things out of the frame and box. What about mounting an 8 or 10 inch pulley to the top of the gear box and finding an old belt drive squirrel cage blower to make a leaf blower or brush pile burner. I used to take the old ones here and leave the paddles and the gear box intact then make and andgle iron frame in a upside down funnel shape then use plywood to make my sides. I made a metal gate bottom and used it for sowing seed in rough areas, where denting the new one might occur. Also maked a bigger gate bottom to spread sand and ag lime.
