trash/sewage pump design

greetings, I have a LS 4640 with hydraulic ports, I am envisioning a hydraulic motor driven off the tractor ports running a trash/sludge pump, 3" in ( suction) and 3" out.....essentially, instead of buying a 7 or 8 hp gas pump, use the tractors hydraulics..... any help ?

How long are you going to pump for 1 or 2 hours? I would think it's cheaper to get a gas engine pump..

I see those trash pumps on CL from 200 - 600 hundred bucks. I have 3'' trash pump that i put a new honda engine on..

Unless you're pumping for extended sessions plus . It's not worth it $$$ wise... Now if you don't want the aggravation of a small engine and $$$ to spare... Have at it .

Set it up to use the pto.

What flow and pressure is available on your LS 4640? You need to know flow available at the quick disconnect not total tractor flow that includes power steering.

With this information you could then calculate size - displacement hydraulic motor you could operate at the required RPM.

Is using the PTO an option?

Great responses, Thank You All..after calculating all hoses and pump and attached sludge pump, I'm further ahead with a separate pump setup and gas stabilizer, for the once a year use...
