Transmission Fluid not there

Dabota, That's the same method I use for checking the hydro fluid ... I use those blue Scott towels and just lay the yellow stick on the towel and you'll know immediately where the level is.

I'm with you on this one, Tres ... this is the silliest thing I've ever heard.

Not making fun of Pete, we all do dumb things and I continue to do dumb things--it is true, it is my specialty and I am good at it. Nonetheless, this is how the "my Kubota quit running with only 34 hours and it is a Lemon" legends get going. Usually, and the same for JD, it is a owner induced malfunction, I do not believe in lemons unless they are hanging from a tree and yellow, not orange. J

The MMM was delivered and attached yesterday and the serviceman checked the transmission fluid. It was just a little short of the dipstick. He added more and left an extra container of UDT. I'll try it tonight. Hopefully my panic attack will be over then.

I always keep extra fluid for every sump on the tractor on hand; 15W-40 engine, NH hydraulic oil, and antifreeze. If your tractor uses gear lube in the front axle get some of that too. If it looks low add some. Ditto on putting the dipstick on paper or a rag to check the fluid level. I usually check it cold before I ever start the engine.
