Trailer deck treatment

I just floored a equipment trailer with treated 2x10.
After couple weeks to dry, a gallon of Thompson in a 3 gal of waste diesel motor oil and 1 gal of diesel to thin rolled on in thin coats did a great job. Mix well between coats as Thompson may separate.
Rolled the full 5 gal on in about 3-4 days allowing it to fully soak in between coats paying extra attention to the knots.
A hard rain after unloading the machine just rain off, none soaked in. This is 2 months after doing the new floor.

I use used hydraulic fluid mixed in with diesel fuel and roll it on with a paint roller, it work best to let it set out in the sun on a good warm day and the boards will really soak up the mixture.

I accidentally found something that works very well. I had a partial 5G pail of clear concrete sealer sitting around and decided to use it for wood sealer on a dump farm wagon bed.
That trailer is now about 60 yrs. old with the original wooden bed.
I noticed last week it needs coated again, I will use a paint roller to spread it on the bed after I clean off everything I can with a compressed air hose.
Thomson's waterseal is not like it was decades ago IMO.

Just finished my 20’ trailer. I had some old Yamaha 2m oil and mixed it with equal parts of diesel. Used roller with long nap and extension handle. Lifted tongue and with loader and used HD saw horses under frame as well as tongue jack, just to back up loader. Rolled underneath then top. Had neighbor and wife help. Took all of 30-40 minutes; two coats in the Texas sun. Wood really soaked it up.

Any Dino oil (or combination of) will do for trailers and a board fence.
Recycling at its best!
