Think about that.... carrying a log like that in the front down a public road... it would block both lanes, wouldn't it?
Na,I do it all the time!

That log, at 20 + feet long was too wide for the road and on top of that, it weighed over 3000 pounds...
It was just faster/easier to pull it home...

The tie rods on the Kubota tractors I have seen are ahead of the front axle but well above the front axle. My thinking is if you want a skidder then buy a skidder.

NO Question about it, next new tractor I buy, I'm trading down to a compact tractor to get some REAL muscle!!
Chains would have helped in some of those situations. By our standards though, I would have sent them home. In the last one, he probably would have been told to take his machine with him.
Let me know when you want to work on a load of cedar. Two weeks ago had a ft of snow so now figuring on around 10" more, should be a blast.I spent yesterday cleaning up the last two storms, and part of today refilling my wood box. I wanted to work on the load of spruce I'm cutting; but between the snow on the trees and the knee deep stuff on the ground it didn't happen. Right now there's too much on the ground for my tractor to go anyways except on my existing trails or within winching distance from the plowed road; plus I won't be able to get a truck here to haul it until the ice on the road subsides.
