Yanmar FF205D
I know this is a strange time to post this, but I have a Yanmar in the shed and dont really need it until next June. Is it OK to let it sit for months or should I run it now and then. Will it hurt it to sit unused for many months? bw

You need to run it occasionally to keep the seals pliable. Most importantly you need the fuel tank full and add a stablizier such as Stabil diesel stabilizer. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Like the other guys said. And if you are gonna let it set.. might get some jack stands and relieve some pressure from those tires... tape up openings.. or at least stuf old rags in to keep pests out.. etc.

Might do an oil change just before retirement to get the acidic oil out of it... that fuel stabilizer is a great idea too.

Throw some moth balls in and around the area you will be storing it. Also set some on the tractor itself, like under the hood, under the seat, and under the dash area. They work great for keeping the mice away. Been using them on my cars for years.
