Tractor storage

For 3 years now my tractor storage has been under a tarp w/waterbottles and was thinking of upgrading to a metal carport as cover. I live on a hill and wind can be an issue so not comfortable with a canvas, Vinyl or Polyethylene style covering.
Wondering if anyone ever puchased from GPB Incorporated (Carports Garages Metal Guard Houses Steel Buildings). The prices are very attractive and quality seems comparable with others.

Go for it!!! I had the same situation for SEVERAL years and finally had an 18x21 metal carport installed by Carolina Carports out of NC. They serve mostly the Southeast region. Can't offer any comments about GPB but they look like they would do you a good job at a fair price, and your tractor will love you for it! I know it was a great investment for me, got tired of covering/uncovering the tractor. If you have high winds, make sure they stake it down really good, even better pour a pad and bolt it down. I had a couple pictures of mine on one of the threads here. Search for carports and that should get you some pic's of others that have had them put up. Good luck!

Just bought new Cub and that prompted me to (FINALLY) clean the garage out to make room for it.

Get the extra anchors if they offer it or a concrete pad. Screw in mobile home anchors are better than the stakes some companies use.

Some of my tractors are in my horse barn.. a couple mor ein garages, and a couple under small leantoo's I built using lumber and roof tin.. still a few more under those tube-fram tarp canopies.

well.. those are a loosing battle in florida.. betweent he sun and constant wind bursts.. I finally am getting rid of the tarps and going with a garage structure as well.. hope to get it put in by the end of this month.

place I'm getting mine from is eagle (I think.. )

I'm buying a similar one this summer, as I am getting too many items setting in the front yard. As i rent I don't want a permanent building here (I've built enough)
My solution will to level the spot, then put Rail Road ties down, two high, then bolting the shelter to them. This way the wind (we don't have tornadoes or hurricanes here) won't blow it away, its re-sell-able, higher for the rop.

use mobile home wind tie downs.. they screw into the ground.. then lag those to those timbers. that's how the carports here are anchored.. non permanent.. but -good- protection for the once in a lifetime wind you aren't expecting in your area... cheap too.

I noticed our town's maintenence area does the same thing with the RR ties. Multiple benefits: good ballast, easy anchorage and gaining some good height. It would be nice, not having to drop my ROP every time I put the machine away.

I truly believe tarps have a major affect on the amount of rust your tractor will have as a tarp that keeps water out will not let moisture escape either. That is if you just cover your tractor with a tarp.
