With a gooseneck the tow vehicle comes into play a lot. 3/4 ton or SRW 1 ton? You need to be cautious on pin weight not being too much. With a dually you have a lot more freedom on how you load things. Generally speaking the more weight you put on the tow vehicle the better as long as you don’t exceed any capacities. The more tongue weight you have the more stable the trailer will be and the more traction you will have. With a gooseneck it is very easy to overload a SRW truck though so be careful.
