About 5 miles from me a man was clearing a lot for a friend with a Kubota L4400. He had pushed over a 12-inch tree with his FEL. He went back to the root ball and tried pushing the root out of the ground. The top of the tree hung on the ground and bowed in the middle when he pushed on it. When enough pressure was applied the tree broke in the middle (like a sling shot) and part of the trunk shot back and hit him in the head. Died instantly. Be careful, friends.

The death is terrible, the legal issues (working on a friends property and dying) will make life even worse.

Very disappointed to hear of your friend’s death, I am sorry for your loss.
As for the legal issues, the only ones that will benefit will be the lawyers. They and you will relive your friend’s death until they are paid to shut up.
Accidents do in fact happen, and in some places friendship runs thicker than blood.
Doc Bob, I realize your trying to enlighten us, but do you have to talk about lawsuits. A guys friend just died.
Doctors/Lawyers never cease to amaze me, particularly when it comes to money. Your one in the same as far as I am concerned

Thanks for posting. I push over medium sized trees and push and bend em to break them many times. Who would've thought it could come back on you like that. ...just goes to show you never know. So, be extra careful out there.

Tollie, I did not take Doc_Bobs post that way. He was just pointing out the problems you MIGHT have in situations like this. It's a fact of life. From my personal experience Lawyers are 1000 times worse than doctors or any other profession. Doctors are all aware of the legalities since they are forced to pay extreme malpractice fees. Yep, it's lawyers and insurance companies that get me all fired up.

What a lot of people overlook is what we have done to USA. Individuals and the legal profession has changed the meaning to, U = Us S = Sue A = All. Doctors are more aware of this that the majority of us. A friend was building a house. Another friend knew he had a friend in the roofing business. During the process of installing the roof he fell off the house. No insurance. No workmens comp. No waiver form. The friend never did finish the house. Had to file for bankrupcy.

What Doc Bob siad is true. The troubles have just started. We may not want to hear the truth, but we cannot ignore the facts.

Nice to be judged the same as a lawyer  I will assume you typed before engaging your brain. Since we have never met, you have no idea what I am like, my views on money or anything else. But you were able to judge me negatively in just seconds based upon some stereotype. Wonder what makes you simlar too?

Seems to me doctors are one of "those types" of lawyers favorite targets. That John Edwards made mega bucks suing doctors!

Tollie,

The post never said this man was his friend. Not sure where you got that......He said "a man was clearing a lot for a friend"

How can you lump doctors into the same group as lawyers? They have nothing in common. I have family that are both doctors and lawyers and they are all exceptional people. Maybe you need to get out a bit more.

"Your one in the same as far as I am concerned" That would be you're, not your.

I, too, think it's time to close this thread. It's gotten too far off topic.
