Todays picture shows the Cub Cadet frame now inside the JD Gator and welded in place.

Here is the next progress picture of the DeereCubGator project. You can see I narrowed up the Cub dash and reinstalled all the guages and switches in the new smaller area. It is all mounted to the newly fabricated center console I made today . It is actually all fitting together very nice.

Looking like fall in Northern Michigan today in our backyard.
I got the new design done for the shifting linkage on the Gator. Also got the new design done for the re routed brakes . I got the new low profile gas tank mounted . Now I am doing a new design for the exhaust system moving the muffler to the rear of the machine and rounting the pipes along the left side of the frame. Then I will make wheel adaptors , then design the hydraulic dump cylinder system, then build a roll cage , then raise the front of the Gator 6 inches for more ground clearance . This has been a great project.

Today I fired up the cubdeergator for the first time. I also got the hydraulic lines all connected including the new one for the dump box. Tomorrow I will finish the brackets for the dump box cylinder. Also I will get going on the rear wheel adaptors. It has been a fun project.

Front lift kit , Today I removed the front suspension and tweaked the front swing arms, built new shock mounts and tweaked the tie rods. Now the front sits much nicer along with the rear lift I did a couple weeks ago. My next project is a roof for the Gator next week.

Todays progress picture shows some of the first roll bars cut and tack welded together . Also I set the roof on for the first time after trimming 10 inches off the rear of it to get a more sporty effect. Also I tilted the roof down in front for a better look . Once it is all done I will paint all the roll bars and the roof black. Nothing fancy but another fun challenge. Hoping to share the finished video this weekend.

Yes, I think he would be all smiles to see I actually did what I told him I was going to do so quick.
Today it looks a little bit better with the fresh black paint on the roll bars and roof. My little grandson and I will have fun on this slow moving Cub Cadet powered slow moving oversized go cart, ha,ha.

Last night I mounted 4 overhead lights on the inside crossbar. Today I will build side railings for the dump box and add a couple more rear crossbars on the rollbar. Also today I will add rear mudflaps.

Todays progress shows the new dump box railings I made yesterday and painted. Also I welded on more horizontal bars to the main roll bar and painted them. Mudflaps , rear lights and a rear bumper/hitch is still left on the list to do.

Deb posted the first test drive video of the Gator powered by the Cub Cadet Garden tractor . It is video number 196 at doncampbellmodels. You can see the rear mudflaps and the rear tailights mounted. Also you can see I have started the rear bumper and hitch. I still plan on building a front bumper with a couple more headlights .

Todays progress on the CubCadet/DeereHydro conversion shows the new bumpers now painted and installed. It sits much nicer 6 inches taller than when I brought it home. This was my best buy for 2015.
